GERMAN COLONIES - SOUTH WEST AFRICA 1898 (3 Mar) 10pf diagonal opt postal stationery card to Germany with very fine SWAKOPMUND cds cancel and KARLSRUHE receiving mark at bottom left.  The German manuscript on the reverse gives an account of delays to construction of a railway due to deaths from Typhus and workers 'making themselves scarce'. Card has a middle crease but is a fascinating historical item.
