Andrew was born and educated in Bournemouth beginning his working life with a stamp dealer who ran a shop and auction in the town. Soon Andrew moved to the Christies Philatelic Department under the tutelage of the great Robson Lowe. In 1990 he joined Sandafayre and enjoyed a 24 year career with us until he left in 2014 becoming a consultant to us and a number of other auction houses. Andrew rejoined the firm in 2021 as our Director of Philately with special responsibility for our public auctions. He has formed several impressive collections, most notably of the Leeward Islands, Transvaal and the forgeries of the classic issues of Switzerland. Currently he is building a collection of the post cards and postal history of his beloved Anglesey.
